Chelsea Smith

Chelsea Smith is a Senior Managing Director at Bernstein Private Wealth Management and leads the Family Office Service practice. In her role, she will help expand our presence in the family office space by leveraging Bernstein’s significant resources across investments, wealth planning and family governance.

Chelsea joins us with more than 20 years of industry experience, previously working for Northern Trust, Allstate Investments, and Goldman Sachs. Her expertise includes; equity trading, institutional sales, and most recently asset management for Northern Trust’s Global Family Office group which focused exclusively on exceptionally wealthy families and their private foundations. Chelsea earned a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Outside of the office, Chelsea prides herself on being a connector, empowering women, and giving back to her community. She is passionate about mentoring young adults (black women in particular) and helping women stay in the workforce after their M.B.A.. Chelsea is an active member of the University of Notre Dame Women’s Club and serves on Kellogg’s Women’s Leadership Council and a former member of United Way’s Women Leadership Council. In addition to being a wife and a mother to three teenage student-athletes, she somehow still finds time to be an avid floral arranger and loves to travel.
